Awesome Love

God's love is like a hand to hold,
Never weary, never old.
This awesome love we don’t deserve,
But humble Jesus came to serve.

He reaches out to seek the lost,
And never does He count the cost.
He loves us when we hide from Him
And are tangled up in self and sin.

He loves us when He blocks our way,
When we have no words to say.
He loves us because His way is best,
And when we seem to fail the test.

His love is greater than man's hate,
Even if He makes us wait.
When there seems to be no hope at all
And circumstances make us small.

Without God's love we are very poor,
Yet He’s so generous, strong and sure.
Jesus came to show God's love,
With faith that makes those mountains move.
